Here at Down South Scuba we are passionate about Scuba Diving and a lifestyle that revolves around the
sea. We are A PADI Dive Centre situated on the popular surfing beach of Muizenberg in Cape
Town.
We teach PADI courses, organise scuba diving excursions around Cape Town and we stock the best scuba diving gear. Our dive shop is open six days a week and we are always
ready for a cup of coffee and chat, so just pop in! If the sea conditions are bad for diving we
can organise surfing lessons, kite surfing lessons, shark cage diving or you can just chill out on
our beautiful Blue flag beach. There is also a variety of restaurants to choose from.
Scuba Diving gives you an opportunity to experience amazing things and to try something completely
new. There are many different routes you can take, from deep dives on wrecks to underwater
photography in the shallows amongst the kelp. Here in Cape town we have it all and you will find what your love is. Down South Scuba is here to facilitate your journey in diving, whichever route you take, in a safe and professional atmosphere so you can have the most amount of fun doing it.
Our particular interest is underwater photography.
We love the challenge of taking photos underwater just as
much as we love teaching people how to take them. We have a range of cameras for students to use, so
come and give it a try!
Show your friends how beautiful the underwater world is, instead of just telling them.
Scuba Diving in Cape Town
Here in Cape Town we are about as far south as you can get on the African continent. We are on the tip
of Africa where the cold Atlantic Ocean meets the warm Indian. This gives us some unique and fantastic Scuba diving, even though it might be a bit chilly at times. You don't have to worry about the cold
though because our dive gear is right for the conditions and very well maintained, we make
sure of this.
False Bay is the warmer side and has some exciting shore dives as well as numerous boat dives to choose
from. On this side we also dive with the prehistoric Broad Nose Seven-Gill sharks. This is a unique chance
to get to see these beasts eye to eye (without a cage!). We often do our qualifying open water dives here!
If sharks aren't your thing don't worry because we have many other options.
The Atlantic is a bit more intense but also offers some amazing dives and a chance to dive with our local
clowns, the Cape Fur seals! On both sides the opportunities for the underwater photographer are endless.
For those of you who prefer it a little deeper there are some truly magnificent reefs and wrecks to dive
on.
